Personality: When first meeting Natalia, it's difficult not to notice that she's a princess. Her high manner of speech, her pride, and even the way she carries herself mark her easily as nobility. She's eloquent, poised, and absolutely confident in who she is as well as where her talents lie. She makes no secrets as to her expectations of others and what she wants them to do. She's very proud to be part of the royal family, her duties and responsibilities, and her accomplishments as an archer. She's considered a master of the Lanvaldear style of archery despite her young age, and this is a result of her hard work and dedication. So while she may not be the most humble princess around, at least her ego isn't artificially inflated. She earned the right to be proud of herself.

Natalia is also someone who fully expects others to obey her orders. She's pretty darn bossy and often tells others what to do. It's remarked how peculiar it is that the male party members seem to have no problem with this, and they leap to do as she asks. While she does issue a lot of commands, she's not unreasonable about what she wants. She only wants to get things done, she's not interested in having servants cater to her whims. She's a natural leader, and isn't afraid to delegate responsibilities in order to ensure that the best results are achieved. Those who refuse or talk back to her are met with haughty indignation, as Natalia refuses to tolerate ill manners. When angry, she becomes crisp in tone and more than a little condescending in the way she treats people who get on her bad side.

Because of all of her pride and confidence, Natalia is fairly susceptible to the influence of others and it isn't difficult to manipulate her by posing a threat to either of these qualities. Jade remarks that she seems easy to handle after he teases her and Luke when they admit to being tempted at the thought of relaxing a little longer in the oasis. Immediately she drags Luke off insisting that they're leaving right now in order to prove she's got the guts and stamina to keep up with the others.

She's also regrettably gullible, especially when Anise decides to have some fun with her. No matter how outrageous the story is, Natalia doesn't seem to even consider the possibility that she's being trolled. She gasps, and listens to every word while being completely enthralled (even about Van's power beard and laser beam eyebrows). Part of this is due to her noble upbringing as no one would dare pull such a prank on the princess, and part of it is due to how much trust she places in her friends and allies. Either way, her reactions are a treasure and a delight, which is probably why no one bothers to stop it from happening.

One of Natalia's best and worst qualities is her headstrong independence. She's not content to simply stand by and allow injustice to happen, preferring to take action herself in order to right a wrong. This even causes her to disobey her father's wishes that she not accompany Luke and the others to Akzeriuth, and she sneaks out of the castle insisting that she join them. While she can be woefully stubborn, it's usually for the right reasons, especially when it comes to caring for the people in her kingdom.

She's quite adventurous as well, and jumped out of the window to sneak out of the castle when she was a child. Natalia loves ghost stories, and shows no fear or hesitation when fighting monsters or leaping to the aid of the townsfolk. Even when an old man is being harassed by several thugs, Natalia rushes immediately to his aid...she's so fierce that she's even able to drive the thugs off on her own before the others arrive to back her up. There's a lot about the world she doesn't know, and her curiosity isn't easily quenched. Not much scares her, and even Asch says he didn't think she was the type to get scared in the first place.

She always puts the needs of her people first, stating that it's the responsibility of the royal family to protect the citizens of the kingdom and do everything to make sure that they prosper. She's stalwart in her duties, and the people love her for it, even rushing to defend her and put their lives at risk for her sake. This isn't because she's a princess, for they know she was adopted, but because they were grateful for all she'd done for them and the city. They call her their beacon of hope, claiming that she was the one who opened the hospital, and hired workers at the port when they lost their jobs. She was deeply moved by their words and actions, and though she insisted that they refrain from risking their lives for her because she wasn't of royal blood, not a single one of them was willing to budge. The people admire her that much. She made an oath as a child with Asch...that when they grew up, they'd change the country, so that no one has to be poor, and that war never happens. She was, and is, willing to dedicate the rest of her life to this cause.

No one can say that Natalia isn't a hard worker. She does everything she can to contribute to the group and do her fair share. She isn't content to be mediocre at anything she does, even though she's a very poor cook (the worst in the world according to Anise). She keeps trying, wanting desperately to ensure that she's a good wife in the future. She's undaunted by failure, and only resolves to try that much harder so she doesn't let anyone down. But her abysmal cooking...she tries so hard, you guys! Natalia even frantically tries to cast Heal on the stew after discovering too late that it's burning.

Natalia rarely complains or voices her personal problems. One has to actively be watching her for signs of distress or discomfort as she tries her best not to let her troubles show. Even when they're trekking through the desert, something she clearly isn't used to doing, it isn't until she sighs that the others take note that she might not be doing so well. She also doesn't let on just how deeply hurt or scared she is when her father rejects her as his daughter. She won't lie about what she's feeling and does admit it when directly confronted, but she isn't the sort of person who gets mired down in self-pity or sorrow, nor does she demand or expect sympathy. Sometimes her fears might cause her to hesitate, but in the end, she always makes the decision to move forward and do what's best for the people of her world.

As an ally, Natalia is absolutely someone you want to have on your side. She's loyal and trustworthy, and never breaks her promises. Her caring personality makes her invaluable as a healer, and probably plays a big role as to why she's so good at it. For the most part she tries to be respectful of others, even going so far as to humble herself before Emperor Peony when seeking a peace treaty. But she does have her limits -- she gives Peony the iciest and most forced plea when he insists that everyone beg him to get the celestial sword he owns.

Natalia is an upstanding princess, a dedicated ally, and a devoted friend. Though she may be mildly disoriented upon awakening in Crystallis, it won't take her long at all to join the fight against the Calamity to protect her world, as well as the people of this one.

Third-Person Sample: "My, what a dear creature you are," Natalia spoke soothingly to the wounded chocobo, gently stroking its feathers as it lay breathing heavily on the ground. The injuries it bore were severe, and certainly too vicious to have come from a person. "Please be still. I won't take long."

Her other hand lifted, hovering just above the chocobo as a soft green light shone in the center of her palm. It was a difficult thing to be reduced to the most basic of healing capabilities upon awakening in this world, but she was prepared to cast the Cure spell as many times as it took to ensure that this chocobo would be healed. If this was the way the world worked, then so be it. She would not only collect the needed experience to master her White Mage job, but excel at it. Every adventuring party would do well to bring at least one or two healers with them, surely this was common knowledge.

Slowly but surely, with repeated castings, the blood on the downy yellow feathers began to disappear, and the wounds sealed themselves shut. With a tired trill, the chocobo squirmed and kicked its legs, struggling to get up on its feet again. Natalia stood as well, hands raised and ready to brace the bird should it need her assistance, but it seemed to be doing just fine. With a happy wark, it thrust its head affectionately against Natalia's chest.

"Well now!" she giggled, delighted at this show of gratitude. "You're quite welcome. Just don't push yourself too hard, all right?" It shook itself with a flapping fury, then darted back toward the ranch. She smiled as she watched it go, then turned a more serious frown back toward the Calm Plains. Most monsters didn't go after chocobos, according to what she'd read. That meant there had to be a chocobo eater out there, and it was probably close by. Natalia unshouldered her bow and drew an arrow from her quiver. That wretched beast wasn't about to get away with making a meal out of chocobos as long as she was around!

Mognet Sample: Dear Heroes of Light,

I write to you from the contaminated city of Trano Golsaucia. As most of you are no doubt aware, the threat of powerful monsters is especially prevalent in this area, and they will not be daunted by city walls. The Tarutarus who live here will not be persuaded to leave their home in spite of the danger, nor do I believe they should have to. As Heroes who possess the skills and courage to fight these monsters, I would expect at least five of you to come to the city immediately and drive off the current threat. Needless to say I will be assisting you in these efforts.

In the meantime, the rest of you would do well to search for a Diamond Crystal in order to decontaminate this area from Narayana's vile influence. Security details made specifically to fight monsters is only a temporary solution that doesn't address the root of the problem. These people deserve a safe place to live. Please make your way here promptly so that we may begin our work.
